I wanted to share a wonderful album designer and album company.

The album designer is Sweet Kisses & Cakes (I know how could I not use them?)

And my album company is West Coast Albums.

As soon as I get my latest album I will post photos, but I wanted to share with you the awesome design from Sweet Kisses & Cakes.

Watermarks on the images are just for web viewing… the actual album the watermark is removed.

The Viceroy in Palm Springs is my new favorite place…

This is going to be different than my wedding posts. The photography I am going to show is just how I saw the beautiful villa at the Viceroy. I figure that the more my photography reflects my personality, the more I can let myself be a part of the image.

After the ceremony Dawn Thomas performed a lovely little tune, She’s No Lady, by Lyle Lovett, dedicated from Earl to Leslie.

Dawn Thomas is a songwriter with a soulful edge. She put together a personalized set list for the happy couple, and played a soulful acoustic version of Patty Griffith “When it Don’t Come Easy”….

I was more than honored to provide the photography as a gift to the happy couple.

Weddings can be planned from long distance, for a Thursday in July…and on a boat in Newport Beach.

The Vision: The Beloved movement is the belief that as photographers, we have the ability to touch the world, one relationship at a time. Instead of reflecting the surface, we become an invitation to those we work with to experience the richness within them. Beloved is a remembrance of what is the most important, a celebration of love.

The Dream: While the beginning of a journey together certainly deserves celebration. As the journey continues. each additional step is an achievement worth celebrating – just as much, if not more. Because of the way our minds work, the clarity we have about the importance of the ones we love can become muddy over time. Though always within our reach, responsibilities and hurtful misunderstandings stack up between us. Our ability to recognize what is precious is often set aside until we are threatened with loss. If a social ritual could be established in which couples are regularly invited to experience what is more precious in each other, the ripple affect of that clarity would shift the world. This is the dream of Beloved.

A revolution has started. Instead of getting caught up in our own head and ego, photographers are building a fondness to controlled environments, stylized props, and no time lines… One that embraces the relationships we build with our clients as well as other photographers. Embracing the full acknowledgment that we are humble in the sights of love and relationships.

Thanks to Jesh de Rox, Nicole Polk and Carolyn Wells for bringing this all into motion for me.

The important new genre in photography….

Before their vows, they were able to whisper the most intimate and beautiful words to each other. I love that idea, and these photos.

More from the shoot earlier in May there was an “Engagement Shootout” in Malibu. I participated as one of the photographers to assist in a bigger picture of raising awareness to a local charity in Santa Clarita called Let Me Sail.

Santa Clarita has little treasures everywhere. Off to the hills, by the Golden Oaks, we did our little shoot out.
Brienne Michelle, photographer and Santa Clarita native (like myself) had so much fun turning the lens around and getting some photography for our websites/headshots. Really a fun time, and terribly hard to be in front of the camera. I have a whole new understanding on how hard it is … I promise to amp up my jokes, and have better distracting stories from now on for my clients.

Such cuteness…

This one is one of my favorites because it is very Brienne. Carrying equipment, her camera and her favorite Starbucks drink… (If you want to bribe her with anything, I heard that gift cards works wonders.)
