After the ceremony Dawn Thomas performed a lovely little tune, She’s No Lady, by Lyle Lovett, dedicated from Earl to Leslie.

Dawn Thomas is a songwriter with a soulful edge. She put together a personalized set list for the happy couple, and played a soulful acoustic version of Patty Griffith “When it Don’t Come Easy”….

Her brother conducted the private ceremony … he did it perfectly.

More from the shoot earlier in May there was an “Engagement Shootout” in Malibu. I participated as one of the photographers to assist in a bigger picture of raising awareness to a local charity in Santa Clarita called Let Me Sail.

Santa Clarita has little treasures everywhere. Off to the hills, by the Golden Oaks, we did our little shoot out.
Brienne Michelle, photographer and Santa Clarita native (like myself) had so much fun turning the lens around and getting some photography for our websites/headshots. Really a fun time, and terribly hard to be in front of the camera. I have a whole new understanding on how hard it is … I promise to amp up my jokes, and have better distracting stories from now on for my clients.

This one is one of my favorites because it is very Brienne. Carrying equipment, her camera and her favorite Starbucks drink… (If you want to bribe her with anything, I heard that gift cards works wonders.)

Launching my new website has been a fabulous and creative process. It has allowed me to be able to focus more on what my clients would like to see and how they want it. Also I was able to perfect my studio mantra and personalize every page to something that I wanted to represent my photography.

On a personal note, I wanted to thank a few important folks:

In launching my new website I was also able to launch the fantastic video testimonial we shot in 2009. It is filled with the most kind and sincere words anyone has ever said about me and my photography. I couldn’t believe that my past clients/friends had such amazing things to say about their wedding day experience. In putting the event together I was surprised in how generous they were to come out and say nice things. None of them were told in advance what to say or paid to say it. (Unless you consider Chevy’s Fresh Mex payment.) Chandra Hope worked to make this beautiful video possible. If you have about 9 minutes to take a moment, I would love for you to watch it.

I can never truly say how special and amazing it is to be able to live and fulfill my dreams every day. Without the support of my dearest friends and family, there is no possible way I could achieve, dream, or create. They are a source of inspiration that nothing can replace for me. Thank you so very much.

Armed with ideas, a bottle of Cava and Tanya at Wine 661, we invented the concept of a specialised and personal bridal boutique. This had to be completed with tulle, beautiful decor and a whole lot of planning. With the talents of April and Tanya, we moved forward with the idea of a VIP event for Santa Clarita locals. We wanted to bring together all the best Santa Clarita and the wedding industry together. We were talking quality not quantity. All invited were special entities of their speciality… not always the most published, or advertised, but truly just the best because of their work/passion and love for weddings.

So here is a recap of the event:

The ‘Best of the Best’ of Santa Clarita’s wedding professionals gathered on Sunday at one of SCV’s hidden treasures, Wine 661.

Dresses and a model were provided by Cruz’s Bridal and Tux in Santa Clarita. One of the favorite wedding venue spots of Santa Clarita, The Hyatt

Hosted by the bar’s owner, Tanya, and accompanied by hand-selected wedding pros, brides were welcomed into an intimate space.

Setting up was an adventure, but the transformation from a chic wine bar, to a wedding pro heaven was quite amazing.

Tanya, Wine 661‘s owner, has personally selected her favorite wedding photographer, Cakes and Kisses Wedding Photography, top Santa Clarita Valley wedding venue, The Hyatt Valencia, favorite gown boutique, Cruz’s Bridal, Firefly Events, bachelor and bachelorette party specialists, An Event to Remember,  an incredibly down to earth wedding planner,  super-sweet cake designer, Cake Goodness, amazing florist, Enchanted Garden, amongst others,  to entertain brides and their guests.

Notes by Vicki, were beautiful hand crafted and elegantly designed.

Goodie bags were handed to all the brides to be, along with a raffle ticket and opportunites to win fabulous prizes. Antelope Valley White Dove Releases also had a table showing off the beautiful work they do for brides and grooms.
