This session to me was all about capturing the emotion between the couple; From giggles to snuggles.

Congrats you both on your recent engagement…

But back to my soon to be husband… If you have met him, I imagine you were surprised on how quiet and shy he is… or maybe by how sweet and considerate. While he is very sweet and shy, there is so much more to him.
We met in 1996, reconnected in 2006, and got engaged in 2010. I wouldn’t change a thing about how it happened.

Since I am a visual person, I wanted to post photos of us dating, and our engagement… And then in a few days, I will post one or two wedding photos. Wow.

Our first and last family portrait…

This is a photo from my birthday party at Micel’s. We had a great group of my friends, and this was the first birthday we celebrated together.

This was first time I met all of his friends… Little did I know they would become my best-est friends too.

This is a from a wedding that Jeff was in … and his first time in a formal suit. And I got my first spray tan…

Our first trip to Vegas with his friends… It was so fun and incredible. That’s why we had to go back for our bachelor/bachelorette parties.

The sweetest guy in the world… first of many extreme haircuts I would get in our relationship.

The kind of love that signifies the best parts of life.  The kind that of giggle that wrinkles your nose, and makes you squeal. The kind of warm embrace that you feel from your tippy top to your tippy toes. The kind of comfort that only can be described like a cozy hoodie, and sleeping in on a Sunday.

Yes, that kind of love.

Although Raul and Ashley are the coolest people I have ever met, they picked me to photograph their wedding. Really? Me? Super nerd.
Raul is interested in photography, “Werewolves on Wheels”, world soccer and all things Ashley. Ashley swoons at Anthropologie catalogs, had seen almost all Hayao Miyazaki films, walks in her LBC hood, and all things Raul. Perfect match.

Ahhhh right from an Anthropologie ad. Love.

Then things get REALLY cute.

I promise this is one of my favorite shots. I really love the emotions that comes from just body language. And I know some folks say “But you cut off their heads…” to them I say, you can see real emotion just from the way someone sits close, and intertwines them self within their arms.

After our gondola ride, we walked around Newport and this adorable little street with twinkle lights and brick roads.

I posted some photos from the weddings/ and engagements shoots from Chicago. They were all amazing and incredible. Each couple had a fantastic sense of style and heart for the city. Embracing each landmark and shooting in historic areas to keep the heart of city beating and memories for their wedding.
I did a “engagement” shoot with my friend from California that moved to Chicago last year. Her boyfriend was the typical sweet North Western cutey with the personality to boot. We went to Olive Park with Marc Edwards a local photographer to Chicago. He lent me his refurbished  Contax 645 and I fell in love… Then, when I got the film back from the lab I fell in love again.

This is a holiday dedicated to love and romance… Yay! How wonderful.

So far my engagement has been a whirl wind. I think that what I appreciate the most is my fiance and love and support he has brought. It has been amazing to go through this process with him and communicate how he envisions our lives together. It brings me back from the wedding planning and all the business to what a wedding is truly about.

I love that I have someone who supports my dreams and inspirations.

I have a huge crush on my Jeff, my fiancé. This seems fitting because in 1996, when we worked together in a toy-store, he had a crush on me. It seems like only fate was working that I should return the admiration 10 years later. When we worked together, I had a boyfriend, and he had a party lifestyle. Obviously, it was not meant to be at that time. But in his own words “I never forgot about you, and always thought you were the one.” le sigh. When we reconnected those years later, more grown up, and ready for spending our lives together, nothing could have been better timing.

After four in a half years, we had a private proposal in a hotel room after an Angels game, July 4th weekend 2010. It was far more romantic and very us, even more than any score board proposal I thought I was going to have. Jeff knows me best, he has loved me and only me his whole life. And I plan on making him happy and upholding his crush on me for a lifetime. Timing is everything, and when you turn yourself over to fate, it can only be love.
