Sweet Deal: Celebrate Equally, 33% discount to represent the 33 states where same sex marriages are not yet recognized

I really can’t express how important equal rights in marriage and life are to me. I am overly delighted to see state issues marriage licenses to same-sex couples, the fifteen states (California, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia and Washington), the District of Columbia.

Thanks to So You’re EnGAYed and J&J Photography I am copying/offering a sweet deal for all same sex couples:

“Inequality in Marriage” discount to all same-sex couples getting married in California. Mention this blog posting to receive a 34% discount, representing the 34 states where same-sex marriages are not yet recognized.

With these advances, a record number of Americans live in states that recognize relationships between same-sex couples: Over 35% of the U.S. population lives in a state that either has the freedom to marry or honors out-of-state marriages of same-sex couples.Over 41% of the U.S. population lives in a state with either marriage or a broad legal status such as civil union or domestic partnership.Over 43% of the U.S. population lives in a state that provides some form of protections for gay couples.

August 5, 2010 - 8:03 pm Peta - I thought your offer was awesome - especially choosing 45% to represent the remaining states who don't recognize same sex marriage. I'm straight and this has no impact on me personally, so I am not sure why it struck a nerve. But not recognizing gay unions REALLY bothers me. And your photography is great. Hope you don't mind that I posted @ on my blog (there aren't any followers)
