“We couldn’t even wear the color white for months, after she just got engaged,” she said to me while the bride was getting prepped for her wedding day. Her sister continued, “I think she had the corner on the market for anything white, including accessories”. The room filled with laughter, not because they hadn’t heard it before, but because today was the day their friend/sister/daughter was finally getting married, (and they could wear their white clothing before Labor Day).
The bride beamed as she powdered, fluffed and spritz. Today was her day.
I listen to the speeches, during the reception. It is my new favorite part of the wedding day. This wedding was no exception. The brides’ sister toasted the happy couple, “My sister has been preparing for today since she was 4. We would be playing Barbies, and she was planning her wedding. No really, she was always the ‘Bride Barbie’ and I had to be the Ken that drove her around in the Pink Convertible. She knew that she wanted to get married, dreamed about it, and finally today all her dream come true. Congratulations.”
Thank you Andy Kitchen for the fabulous Bride. The special wedding from The Langham, in Pasadena, CA. It is a beautiful location with trees, a picture bridge and an amazing view. The couple then moved to the Altadena Town and Country Club for the ceremony reception.
