Happily Ever After: Cal Tech, Pasadena CA

Never have I seen a couple more excited to jump back onto their old stomping grounds than these two.

Both attended the fabulous California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, and lived from the same “house”. It was a whirl wind, but I got a guided tour through the campus that was once their home. Weaving through hallways, passing beautiful paintings, amazing architecture and incredible scribblings on the walls, the campus offered more than just a beautiful canvas for portraits, but inspiration for love.
The man to woman ratio was a bit one sided as you can guess being a technical institute, so the luck of being across the hall from one another, falling in love and getting married seven years later had to be the momentum of love in the air.

Despite tickle wars ending in broken bones (well a toe at least), long walks through tunnels, romantic swing rides in the courtyards, and a tree house with wi fi, it was quite the environment for love to blossom.

I thought we would hit the most “wedding-ish” location on campus The Anthenaeum, but really we ended up shooting the most interesting and secretive parts of the campus.

Once we got inside we were able to see the old common areas, complete with a variant painting of Pink Floyd’s “The Wall” and some pats of butter stuck to the ceiling in the eating hall.

One of my favorite surprises was the suspended Christmas tree. It is argued every year whether the tree should be upside down, or sideways. This year upside down won. Then the beautiful tapestry that you would only see at the Getty or in an museum, was in the common dining area. The irony is the man to woman ratio is a bit like the one on Cal Tech’s own campus. We re-enact it below.

The infamous bridge on campus, filled with beauty and mystique.

An incredible sculpture of a man on a bull, that inspired poetry, and was the main occupant of her study time in the garden.

More kissing by the bridge. This is one of the bride’s most favorite scenery on campus. I most agree that it was tranquil and beautiful.

The stunning archways, and beautiful scenery of the Cal Tech campus. It was a beautiful location, and I loved my guided tour so very much. Next time I plan on going to visit the beautiful music hall and theatre.
Thank you so very much for sharing such a beautiful story, and moments with me.
