Event: Kick Ass Cake Bash, Royal-T Cafe, Culver City, CA

Incredible event launching the specialty cakes by Fantasy Frostings. It is called the Broke Ass Cake Collection. The event was filled to the brim with wedding industry types, reality show tv stars, and some amazingly talented folks. Everyone that attended was dressed to impress, ready to party, and supporting my favorite thing in the world, CAKE.

The Royal-T Cafe in Culver City is a swanked out place with knooks, crannys and a VIP lounge with animae. It was so beyond words on how the place when I arrived and put under the masterful eye of Beth Helmstetter and her team, transformed into an amazing party palace with suspended orgamni cranes, incredible floral art, and lighting effects that impressed all. Los Angeles Wedding DJ, Flashdance, rocked and stomped the house with his amazing mixes, and true blue music choices, (I especially liked the Sweet Child O Mine mix!)

Events: Dodgers Stadium, Los Angeles, CA

All I can say is “Go Blue”. With a room crowded with wedding industry folks, I am beaming with excitement to be at my favorite venues of all time, Dodgers Stadium.

This networking luncheon was planned by ABC (Association of Bridal Consultants, Greater Los Angeles) and Paula Estes, Board of Directors of ISES (International Special Events Society)

A special Thank you to all the Showcase Vendors:

Jackie Korman, The Korman Group

Kelly Cho, Senior Sales and Marketing Manager of Dodgers Stadium

Polly Ha, Four Seasons Catering

Carol Saunders, Grand Events

Ross Moor Pastries

The enegry level was high, but not like Open Day April 10, 1962 at Dodgers Stadium. The Stadium Level buzzed with chatter from all the old friends, and new networking buddies exchanging wedding stories, and business cards. You could feel the excitement of us wedding folk looking out on to the field and seeing the bright green grass and the beautiful mountains capes that surround the one and only Chavez Ravine.

Bubbling with ideas and chatter the room settled into thanks and appreciation for the committees that put the event together. Each Showcase vendor got to do a 30 second pitch about their business and how it relates to weddings/events.

Then there was a raffle with fabulous prizes like a nights stay and luxurious locations, and goodies.

With a thanks the room wrapped with a tour of Dodgers Stadium to see all the inner workings. Treated like MVP (Most Valuable Photographer), I was truly honored to be a small part of this happy event.

Personal: Happy Valentines’ Day

From one sweetheart to another, Happy Valentines’ Day

Here is a photo from 1999 when my boyfriend and I first started dating. So cute. We were at my Dad’s company picnic, lounging in the grass. He hates his photo taken, (and still does) but it has gotten better.
Note the Stone Cold Steve Austin hat… oh dear.

And us now as wedding guests at his cousin’s wedding in Manhattan Beach. Aww.

Happy Valentines’ Day!

Real Wedding: Summit House, Fullerton, CA

Any photographer in Orange County knows that the Summit House in Fullerton not only has an amazing venue, but the signature red door keeps both brides and grooms/photographers happy. I love the idea of having something in a wedding photo that people know exactly where the photos take place. It is like the Shutters Santa Monica, Los Angeles Union Station, or the Oceanside at Wayfarer Chapel… Having a signature keeps the venue unique and special. Summit Hous is definitely one of those wedding venues that you never forget.
Thanks for Scott Nelson and letting me be a second shooter on this one. I have worked with Scott’s studio since 2006. He is a fabulous photographer and brings an elegance to all his weddings, through his photography.
